ABOUT COUP

We believe our bodies can often express emotions and stories more profoundly than words. This made us create a training program for dancers to feel empowered on screen and on stage, and unleash their full creative potential as performers.

We are dedicated to fostering a vibrant community that elevates dance as a powerful medium for human connection and dialogue.

When founder Anna Succol set out to create COUP, she did so as someone who loved to dance regularly and wanted a clear goal – but couldn’t find a space in London that offered that kind of commitment and creative journey. At COUP, it’s not just about perfecting steps — it’s about creating something lasting, together.

That’s why COUP’s six-month training was created: a space where dancers train each week with the same team, building trust, and creativity together. This journey leads to an outcomes that celebrate everything you’ve worked towards.

FIRST YEAR HIGHLIGHTS

In our first year, we set ambitious goals—and we’re proud of how far we’ve come!

  • We produced two dance-video projects, Seekers and Shadow Room (in post-production), each exploring different genres and visual styles. These works showcase what our dancers achieved after several months of dedicated training.

  • Each dancer took home two polished video pieces for their personal portfolios and social media channels—giving them assets to build their presence as performers.

  • Beyond production, we built a strong dance community where every member is encouraged to thrive, share ideas, and lift each other up.

Our Team

Behind COUP is a dedicated collective of dancers, filmmakers, choreographers and creative storytellers – each bringing professional experience from both stage and screen.

Our team focuses on dance training that challenges performers to explore different styles, refine technique and connect with their movement. We create a supportive environment where dancers can push boundaries, develop their own artistic voice and gain valuable performance experience on camera and the stage.

We’ve built a warm, supportive atmosphere where each dancer is valued, encouraged to take risks, learn from others, and grow individually. In our first year, this collaboration led to two dance-video projects, where dancers explored the challenges of learning choreography and improvising on camera.
